The almond blossom in Tenerife is a treat for all the senses. 

This natural spectacle begins starts as early as the last week of December and can go into March. So, the best time to do this hike is in January and February. 

Your walk begins in Santiago del Teide, which is a charming little village at an altitude of 800 meters and goes right under the flowering almond trees. 

The trees need cool winters and hot summers to grow. Which is why Santiago del Teide’s climate is so perfect.  

Each tree variety is dressed in its own cape of blossoms.  Some pink, others white with pink stamens, and some white with yellow stamens.  Each blossom representing a different type of fruit or nut.    

It’s totally worth taking a day trip out to experience the Tenerife almond blossoms for yourself and your family and friends.
